Tiffany: So Toni, I hear that are from Memphis? Are you orginally from here?
Toni: Yes, born and raised. I grew up in Orange Mound.

Tiffany: What inspired you to begin writing?
Toni: I was going through the typical teenage stuff when I started to write out my feelings into poems.

Tiffany: How long have you been writing?
Toni: I started writing around ge 14.

Tiffany: Toni, I also heard that you wrote a book called Green With Envy?
Toni: Green With Envy is my first book, Seeing Red is the sequel.

Tiffany: Can you tell my readers a little about Green With Envy?
Toni: Well, it's a love story about a self-proclaimed diva that wants what she wants when she wants it, and she doesn't take no for an answer. She fells in love with the main character, Sawyer Richardson, who by the way is white, but that's not an issue with her. She just sees a fine man and goes after him, not realizing that his current girlfriend, Vanessa is crazy and refuses to let Sawyer go.

Tiffany: I know a lot of writers sometimes write based on past or present experience. Is Green With Envy based on any of your past or present situations?
Toni: Somewhat. There are a lot of references to the places of been and the fears and joys of dating someone outside of my race.

Tiffany: Do you have a particular Genre you like to write in Toni?
Toni: Not really. I write whatever hits me at the time. I'm working on a science fiction story now, but Urban Erotica is my favorite.

Tiffany: Do you have any authors you would consider your mentor?
Toni: Eric Jerome Dickey. I am truly inspired by him and his life story. I know if he's a best-seller from Memphis, then I can do the same.

Tiffany: Have you written anything besides Green With Envy?
Toni: Yes, Seeing Red the sequel and I'm working on I'll Be Damned If I Let Him Go and Caught!
